Ceramics
Replacing nano-Al₂O₃ with nano-SiO₂ and adding it to 95 porcelain can act as both nano-particles and second-phase particles. It not only improves the strength and toughness of ceramic materials, but also enhances the hardness and elastic modulus of the materials, with more ideal effects than adding Al₂O₃. Using nano-SiO₂ to composite ceramic substrates not only improves the compactness, toughness and smoothness of the substrates, but also significantly reduces the sintering temperature. In addition, the application effect of nano-SiO₂ in ceramic products such as ceramic filter screens and corundum balls is also very significant.
Sealants & Adhesives
Sealants and adhesives are important products with large quantity, wide range and wide application scope. They require the product to achieve optimal conditions in viscosity, fluidity and curing speed. Domestic products in this field are relatively backward, and high-grade sealants and adhesives rely on imports. Foreign products in this field have adopted nano-materials as modifiers, and nano-SiO₂ is the preferred material. It is mainly to coat a layer of organic material on the surface of nano-SiO₂ to make it hydrophobic. Adding it to the sealant quickly forms a silica structure, that is, nano-SiOₓ small particles form a network structure to inhibit colloid flow, accelerate curing speed and improve bonding effect. Due to the small size of nano-SiO₂ particles, the sealing and impermeability of the product are also increased.
